Good Movie but read the book

I suggest if you like the movie, to get the book "The Small Woman". The life of Gladys was much more intense than the movie.

I have today finished reading The Small Woman. A fascinating story of a truly remarkable woman. I think it is a pity the film was not truer to the book, though I did enjoy it. Perhaps some enterprising tv producer would consider making a miniseries of the book to really do it justice.

The Long Walk stops every year, just once.

Agreed. Here was someone like the early Christians: a little mad, or it seemed to ordinary Christians.

I didn't read Small woman, but I read a biography of Gladyis Alward, and Fox absolutly butchered her life if the book was correct. For example, the inn was called the inn of the eight happiness, not the sixth. According to what I read, even Gladyis didn't like the inn of the sixth happiness (the movie).

Good idea.

There were a lot of pieces to Gladyis Alward's life presented in the film. This gave the film a longish feel, sort of like a song with a few too many verses. I haven't read the book but if there is more material there then a mini-series would be an excellent format.

I personally didn't mind the film. For the record I gave it 7/10.
