Why is this movie never on TV?

I don't think I have seen The Hunters on TV since the '70s. Are some movies seldom if ever on TV due to some with rights to the movie being stubborn about having it shown?
I bought a DVD of this movie a couple of years ago. It may not be a classic, but it is decent entertainment. I give it a C plus, maybe a B minus.
(I read the James Salter novel The Hunters. I thought it was a good read that doesn't go gungy, i.e., overly gung ho. (Anyone from the '60 Marines like me still use the term "gungy"?)

...and on Fox Movie Channel again today - 12/02/09. A pretty good aviation movie with lots of aerials; watching it at this very moment.

............It's on the Fox Movie Channel right now (4/2/10). In the old days (the eighties) movies like this were usually shown on local channels on the early and late shows with cuts for used car lot commercials and the ever popular dialing for dollars. Now they turn up on TCM and Fox Movie Channel. They may not be on as often, but at least they aren't cut to ribbons.

It's on Fox movie channel right now, (almost over). Good aerial footage, but that's about it. I even saw this in the theater when it came out. Boy, does that date me!

Nuke 'em till they glow, then shoot 'em in the dark!
