I just found out about this movie a while ago and it reminds me of a movie a saw a couple years ago on TV about the air war in Korea. But i'm not sure if it's the same one. What i remember about the one i saw was that it featured
P-51's with South Korean markings but they were being piloted by american's. The cover of this movie shows F-86's and they might have been in the one i saw as well but i can't remember.
No P-51s in "The Hunters." But a great flying picture which you shouldn't miss...came out in DVD last Spring.

"Battle Hymn", a bio-pic starring Rock Hudson as Colonel Dean Hess. Hess was a former WWII fighter pilot who became a minister, then was called back to active duty in Korea, flying F-51s, and in the picture they did have ROK markings. The upshot of "Battle Hymn" is that Col. Hess saved a group of Korean orphans.
shareSorry, but Hess was an ordained minister BEFORE WWII. He became a fighter pilot because he felt that he could not in good conscience bless men to do what he was unable to.
