I know he was a cop but I just watched it again and these kids look as old as some of their parents! (lol)

Well, they did say something about 2 years for Uncle Sam - I figure that's military service that interrupted his repeating grades.

But I thought they helped you get your high school diploma in the service. Insisted on it even.

All I can say is Thank God for the invention of the GED.
