Was his character the best friend/suck up to Russ Tamblyn's character? If not would somebody describe what character he is in the film.
shareChaplin has a very small role as Quinn, another undercover cop, who is pretending to be a waiter in the movie's climactic scene. He reveals himself to be a cop to Steve Bentley (Michael Landon) at the nightclub and asks Bentley to gather up his friends for a fight.
Quinn gets shot and killed during the fight which occurs after Russ Tamblyn makes the undercover heroin buy from Mr. A and Bix.

Quinn was indeed shot during that sequence. It is not at all clear however from the movie that he was actually killed.
