The type of movie that made 1950's cinema great

The underrated Stewart Granger in a tiger-hunting/ POW thriller movie... a "man's movie" without the gore and swearing of today, suitable for the whole family except maybe very young children.

I feel sorry for the reviewer here who called this movie "strictly run of the mill". It's not that, it's great.

I second your opinion. This is a great movie with wonderful, understated performances. Unlike many movies with bigger budgets & endless SFX, this one really does live on in your memories long after the closing credits have faded.
