Jimmy Clanton: Another great song, Sandy Stewart: 2 great songs

Movie girl: I grew up in the late 50's and early 60's listening to earlier rock music with my older sister. By the time I was in middle school in the early 60's,
the rock stars were Bobby Vee, Bobby Vinton, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, etc.
I loved this music and Motown greats like Mary Wells and the Marvelettes, but always, I recalled the earlier music like The Fleetwoods singing Mr.Blue and Come Softly to me. Also, I never forgot the great harmony of Dion and the Belmonts
singing Teenager in Love.

Regarding Jimmy Clanton, an unforgettable song from the early 60's was Venus in Blue Jeans. Jimmy's singing was good, but his true magnificence was the wonderful background on the guitar and other instruments. This song had not been out yet when this movie was made.

In third grade I really liked Ritchie Valens with his wonderful rendition of Donna
and Come on, Let's Go. When I was in fourth grade the sad news came out with the
plane crash. Strangely, I had not heard Buddy Holly or The Bg Bopper. Today I collect Buddy and Ritchie's songs, plus many doo wop type songs.

On You Tube I recently discovered many more wonderful doo wop singers I had never heard of from the late 50's and early 60's.

Always, Jimmy Clanton will be special to me singing Venus in Blue Jeans.

Another great was Sandy Stewart whom I had never heard before. I added Heavenly
Father and My Coloring book to my playlist. She was a good example of a gentle
doo wop sound,
