Most of his others are on DVD. Why not this one?

I'd love to have this on DVD. Not only for nasalgic purposes, but simply for the short role played by Sessue Hayakawa. If you've seen "Bridge on the River Kwai", you'll immediately see the comedic parallel.

I would definitely be interested in that. I don't think I have anything rare or unique that I could trade, but I might be interested in buying.

You can always do what I did. I bought the VHS for less than $10 and then transferred it to a dvd for home viewing purposes

1. The title of the movie is "Geisha Boy"
2. Characters use phrases like "Yellow Vegetrian"
3. The characters refer to Asians as "Orientals"

HOWEVER I saw it on Encore a few years ago, so maybe not. I can still see why the latent racism which wouldn't have been noticed at the time but would be today might prevent US DVD release.

Yes I see what you are saying about the phrases used back then. But I can't understand why people would find them racist today (wich, today I know they would). There is nothing racist about "Geisha". It's simply a professional woman who entertains men.
"Yellow" to me is not racist. We use "black" and "white" today to describe races. And I remember singing "Red and yellow, black and white, we are precious in His sight" when I was a kid and nobody thought anything of it. But I guess that every racial group today, except whites, needs to be referred to using a hyphonanted term.
"Oriental" is simply a term describing where a people are from. They come from the Orient just like I come from North America. So I really can't see why people are offended by that word. Who decided that "Oriental" was racist anyway?

But you are correct wrathofachilles and sadly so. And because of this over sensitivity Geisha Boy and many other great movies are denied us as though we are too immature to see them.
