I WAS gonna give it a solid seven until I saw the rushed and cantered ending.
So my final score of this film is six.
I go with 7. Not sure what you expected from the ending but a massacre. A little pat but downbeat ending; no simple redemption is possible. High body count in this move - 80-90. As most have noted, stronger on dialogue than action. Standout scene is the discussion between Vinson and Travis. This is as hardcore as McCrea ever got.
