(1963), "Baked stuffed cabbage" (1966 ), "I do not like Mondays" (1971), "Spring Sarge" (1974), as well as detective stories: "Two gentlemen N" (1961) and the "silence of the night" (1978). In 1987 he was awarded the Silver Lions in Gdansk a prose adaptation of Stefan Żeromski "Faithful river" (1983, premiere censorship reasons in 1987).

As one of the few directors began to make films based on his own scripts, in the period in which the main inspiration for the filmmakers were literary works.

He was vice-president of the Polish Filmmakers Association (1983-1987), he also served as Director Team (1984-2009), then the Film Studio "Eye". He was a member of the Cinematography Committee, he belonged to the Polish Film Academy.
