Very good film that's awful at the same time (spoilers)

Very well executed film in terms of script and acting. But I hated the story; namely, sympathising with a couple engaged in adultery and cruelty towards a spouse after lying in court to cover the crime of one of them. The character of Andre lies in courts, encourages perjury and then torments his wife with his lust and his affair. Dreadful man. I felt sorry for Yvette and Mazetti at the end, even though the latter caused Yvette's death. But I felt nothing for Andre.
