Having just watched the movie i can confirm that Bernard Cribbins IS in this movie. The trivia section states no-one is able to spot him. He is a sailor in uniform on a boat(in a British dock), saying something, about half-way(56mins) into the movie.

He's unrolling what looks like a canvas water hose on the deck of a boat. I had to check twice but his voice is a dead give away.
