A still from this movie inspired a classic British record sleeve

I love the movie Dunkirk for many reasons, not least that a still from the film was used on the cover of one of the greatest songs by one of the most influential British bands ever, namely The Smiths, and their classic 1984 single How Soon Is Now.

Lead singer Morrissey was always a big fan of old British black and white movies, and it shows on the cover when he used a still of actor Sean Barrett from Dunkirk.

Check it out below:

Apparently this sleeve was soon withdrawn and replaced as it looks like actor Barrett is holding his crotch!

Nothing on this site anymore.

A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep.

the frontman of the smiths cannot sing in my opinion, I am so shocked at how many bands people like whose frontman cannot sing to save his life, Freddie Mercury was the greatest and is the greatest singer of all time, none could compare.

You are an idiot with crap taste, musicbytes .

Queen are the cheesiest least cool band of all time. You only have to look at all the ugly brain-dead unfashionable fat-ass tourist idiots queueing outside to see the dreadful We Will Rock You The Musical in Tottenham Court Road every night to realise what a crappy band they were. Freddie Mercury was a horrible self-indulgent turd with a bad moustache who played apartheit-era South Africa at the height of the cultural boycott for sickening amounts of money. Good riddance to bad rubbish

You are the the most worthless arse of all time ! Queen has been voted the greatest band in the world by more people worldwide than any band in music history, Even many people who don't like Queen nevertheless highly regard they're musical talent, You are a narrow-minded fool who wouldn't know quality music if it bit you in the arse. Queen will live forever ! Long may they reign !
