Film is unobtainable
It is a shame that a film of this quality is unobtainable.
shareIf you have a Region 2 DVD-player try www.ddvideo.co.uk
I saw it there recently (11/2004).
It's also available from choices direct. (region 2)
shareObtained it from D D Home Entertainment Ltd on DVD and watched it today, cost £9.99. plus postage. www.ddhe.co.uk. Stacks of good films available.
shareI've picked up VHS copies on Ebay for about $10.00, and someone was also selling what must have been a bootleg Region 1 DVD.
Great Film.
This is still available from DDHE at a bargain price of £5 plus £1.68 postage(uk).Official region 2 DVD is full frame unfortunately but still worth picking up for the price.Excellent film with good acting & taut action sequences-certainly on a par if not better than the overrated "Ice Cold In Alex".
shareI bought it on the weekend in a triple pack with Carve Her Name with Pride & Cottage to Let. Still gotta watch the last 15 minutes.

shareThe film was originally shot in 1.85:1 aspect ratio and has been shown this way on Channel 4 and Film 4. But the DDHE DVD image is zoomed in to eliminate the black bars at the top and bottom and unfortunately, whoever the idiot was who did the transfer has zoomed in a bit too much, so that a lot of the image top, bottom and sides is missing, which means a lot of scenes where the top of the actors heads are cut off. All in all, you'd be better off with a recording of the Channel 4 / Film 4 version.
shareIt is now on Amazon Prime streaming.
shareAgreed and quite sad.the British films and Male actors of the 30's 40's 50's and 60'are
indescribable,so I will not try.
The youth of today would benefit with a college course on viewing these films for four
years,no filth,no sex.....that is how tops they are....Michael Craig and the entire lot of them.
Sounds like you walked 5 miles uphill to school ... in both directions!
shareOn my DVD player right now. Got it for my birthday from Amazon.
