This is a good movie.

It is a good western. Of course it is not up to par with some of the classic westerns but when you have time on your hands it is entertaining and worth watching.

Yes. The criticism about being too much a clone of High Noon is
fair, but on its own this is a solid movie which does add a
few twists. It makes entertaining viewing. Its one big weakness
was Joan Weldon, I felt. Her role was hardly "virginal" as one
reviewer described her, having a clandestine affair with one man
while engaged to another, but I don't think this actress was quite
up to the nuances of the role.

Yes, "Day of the Badman" is pretty good, and I've only seen it up to the half-way point. Actually, I think that it is rather interesting that everybody seems to be criticizing "Day of the Badman" for being so much like "High Noon." Wake up, folks, the story was based on a material written by the same guy who wrote "High Noon!" Consequently, all these criticisms seem mighty lame. It would be like complaining that one movie based on a Stephen King book is too much like another movie based on another Stephen King book. Furthermore, westerns are a genre and all genre works tend to be an adaptation. Meaning, Hollywood tweaks stuff here and there to make it look like something else but makes it just different enough so that it is different but not too different. So I agree for the most part with 398.

crap. the only 'good' thing about this movie is the cameraman managed to keep it in focus. come to think of it with material this predictable that's not necessarily a good thing.
