Someone raised an interesting question regarding the aspect ratio

this and The Pajama Game.

With Cinemascope, VistaVision and all of the other film processes used in the 50s to entice people away from their TV sets, why were neither filmed in Todd-Ao or any of these extant at the time. Someone suggested it was money, but Jack Warner, not my favorite person, spared no expense to musicals Warner's produced at the time. Was it a money consideration, as someone else suggested?

Any ideas?

I await the replies! I think it bizarre that these two shows were done in regular ratio (just about the same shape as a TV screen) while other shows were being given the widescreen treatment with stereo sound.

Be patient, mikwalen. Some savant will come along and enlighten all of us on this issue. This IS the IMDb, after all.

Hope you're well.

The aspect listed on this site is 1.85:1. This is the normal ratio for films, roughly the equivalent of a wide screen TV.
