One a Jack Lemmon's unheralded great roles

When I saw this movie, I was expecting a somewhat cutesy "fish out of water" Jack Lemmon comedy...and indeed, that's how it began. But it's easy to forget what a great dramatic actor Lemmon is...and it was amazing to see the transformation of his charactor to comic trail hand to the iron tough man running the cattle drive.

yeah and to think he made some like it hot, right after this

It's amazing how great actors can so compartmentalize their roles.

He was flawless in this movie. Such a versatile actor, he's always surprising me.

Saw this film for the first time in maybe 30 years, and I'd completely forgotten how "dark" it eventually becomes after the mostly comedic opening. I think it's the only real action-adventure movie I've ever seen Lemmon in (unless you want to count that 70s "Airport" flick)

May I bone your kipper, Mademoiselle?
