Good Cast, Memorable Munster

The giant colossus with the blinking eyes and mechanical voice are fun and dorky. Mala Powers looked very alluring in the nightgown. A bit slow, I thought. The scenes between the boy and his dead father's brain-activated robot were.......unnatural.

Yes, this qualifies as a true Psychotronic film from the Fabulous Fifties. It deserves a quality DVD release by Paramount and belongs in every sci-fi fan's movie collection.

well like i said in my review, a person who died, became a robot, wanted to suicide TWICE, suceeding second time and tried to kill every humanitarian in the world, it sure is memorable monster of the 50s.
and the acting was surprisingly good compared to many movies of its time.

Great 1950s science fiction/horror. They squeezed the absolute most possible from their limited budget. The robot's appearance, sound effects, and voice, and the way they lit and photographed him were extra creepy. Van Cleave's minimalist piano score added a lot to the nightmarish atmosphere. This movie is a forgotten classic. SPOILER ALERT--My only disappointment was that the very likeable Ross Martin was out, except for his distorted voice, after only about the first ten minutes.
