I too have been looking for a copy.
My wife and I saw it in Liverpool, England in the early 1960s.
We would very much like to obtain a copy. We tried in vain last year, our 50th wedding anniversary but failed.
Somebody out there must know of a supply.
I wondered if the person writing the report from Canada has a copy or would know where we can all find one.
It seems so popular on this site yet it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack!

I keep wondering why it is never shown on the classic movie channels, like the Turner Classics; I know it use to be on TV on Million Dollar Movie when I was young.
If you find a way to get a copy, please let me know; I am very interested.

I HAVE A VHS (FULL SCREEN) COPY OF "A CERTAIN SMILE".
shareHello!
I too have been looking for "A Certain Smile" to turn up on the classic movie networks and I have searched various video venues. If you still have copies of the movie, I would very much like info on obtaining one. I hope you periodically check this site since the last posting was was 8 months ago!! I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks
I have been looking for a movie I saw many years ago as a teenager entitled "A Certain Smile". I cannot locate it in movie catalogues, online, etc./ I finally at least see it listed here and others looking for it. Where/when can I find a copy to purchase? It stars Rosanno Brazzi, Christine Carere, Joan Fontaine - 1958. Thank you.

I can't vouch for the quality but you could e-mail the seller and ask some questions about the VHS and whether it is also available on DVD.

That bootlegger sells junk.
shareMy wife and I got a copy at http://www.lovingtheclassics.com/index.html. The DVD was 14.99 and the VHS was 19.99.
Let me warn any potential buyers, that the quality of the DVD (made from a VHS)was pretty bad! It was below even VHS standards. It was very grainy and even had drop outs and defects like you would find on a bad VHS tape.
Do a Google search, as it is probably available elsewhere as well. It has not been released by the movie studio, Twentieth Century Fox, I believe. I hope they release it to DVD soon because my wife is totally obsessed with the movie.
Good Luck getting a descent copy

Thank you so much! I had a VHS copy, but I had to give it away with my other old tapes to make more room in our apartment. New technology marches on...
