I liked the following movies a lot so I'm looking for similar ones:

A Streetcar Named Desire
East of Eden
Splendor in the Grass
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Rebel Without a Cause
Giant
West Side Story (though it's actually not exactly like the other ones)

So these types of Tennessee Williams/Elia Kazan/Paul Newman/Marlon Brando/Natalie Wood/Elizabeth Taylor/James Dean (though all of his films are already included in the list) movies are what I'm looking for.
Here are some movies that could fit the bill, though I haven't seen them yet so I'm not sure:

Baby Doll
Guys and Dolls
A Place in the Sun
Gypsy
Suddenly, Last Summer
Sweet Bird of Youth
The Long, Hot Summer
Sex and the Single Girl

Anyone who could add some more movies to the list would be very helpful! :)

This post is coming a little late in relation to your post. I'd add movies to the list like:

On the Waterfront
Jailhouse Rock
Cool Hand Luke
The Hustler

To name a few.

In the same vein, there are these movies:

"The Fugitive Kind"
"The Rose Tattoo"
"Summer and Smoke"
"Night of the Iguana".....all Tennessee William plays

"Reflections in Golden Eye"
"The Heart is a Lonely Hunter"
"Member of the Wedding" ..........all novels by Carson McCuller

"Desire in the Dust" by Harry Whittington. All of these are movies in the genre you like.
