Book compared to the movie
Is the movie very much different from the book?
shareIt wasn't a book. It was a play. There wasn't much difference in the two except Maggie and Skipper's 'tryst'.

i loved the play that tennessee williams wrote. he is one of the best anerican playwrights in history. i liked the movie a lot, but the play just had a better feel to it.
sharethe Hays Code which dictated what could be and couldn't be seen in a movie is to blame for the movie being a weak adaptation, taking out some crucial plot points. But the movie still works as a standalone film as long as you can separate it from the source material
