6.3 out of 10 seems like a very low rating. I'd think it should get at least a 7 if not 8 out of 10. I've always though it was a very well acted and enjoyable movie despiete some historical inaccuracies.

Where do you want to start? Static direction, within a largely studio bound set. Invariably director Quinn sticks the camera in front of a tableau of actors and just leaves it motionless. Over-talky script. Bad acting. Dated in style even when it was released in 1958, when I first saw it!
shareI've never minded static shots. I also like dialogue, as long as it isn't pointless. Always thought the performances were memorable. Haven't seen it in a while though.

I gave it a ten becuse one, it is one of my ten favorite movies, and two, I thought the rating was to low. I think generall speaking 8 is fair.
