Dialog - anyone else?

I really had trouble with the dialog - it's difficult to describe - some kind of combo of wooden, unnatural, post-film dubbing, simplistic, easily predictable - etc. Sorry - can't put my finger on it - but overall it just didn't sound good. It relates to both the words used and the actual physical speech.

Completely agree. It's overly formal. And the fact that Jean Seberg wasn't very experienced at the time made some of it sound even clunkier.

Dialogue?

Have the rich, that cut a swath over the Rivera, ever really been known for their 'intelligent' conversation.

They were there on vacation to flaunt their wealth, lifestyle and privilege...in st tropez...amongst their 'kind' and all the hanger on's/artists that surrounded the 'scene'.

No question of money leads to an omnipotent sociopathic existence void of accountability, no remorse or shame, no life plan and where sex is treated impersonally.

This was especially present on the Rivera during the F Scott Fitzgerald epoch and continued for many years with expats abroad.

The overdubbing is unbearable. I feel like I'm watching Rochelle, Rochelle.
