Honda's Greatest? Definitely A Classic!

H-Man is the kind of movie you never forget. The atmosphere was great: the rain, dark, and smoke. Oh yeah, almost forgot, lotsa fun!

I just saw this film for the first time and I must say that it is shockingly good in every aspect. I was honestly expecting the type of traditional Toho movie that I love - campy, bad dubbing, silly. But for this flick the effects are truly outstanding (for the time), there is tons of mood and atmosphere, the dub is pretty decent and the story is extremely intriguing.

In terms of what makes a "good" movie, I'd say this is nearly as good as Godzilla. Maybe not his greatest overall but considering this film is a very unusual mix of sci-fi, horror with a dash of noir and exploitation then I'd say this movie is DAMM good. Honda is such an underrated director.

It was good, but I wouldn't call it his greatest. That honor would go to the original Gojira.
