The Battle Of The V1 - DVD release

Battle Of The V1 has recently been issued on DVD in the UK by the excellent DD Entertainment. I picked it up the other day for £9.99. They have brought out two more gems that were directed by Vernon Sewell, The Blood Beast Terror and Curse Of The Crimson Altar. I do hope that other rare titles of his such as The Man In The Back Seat, House Of Mystery and Strongroom are soon given a DVD release by someone. Back Seat and Mystery were essentially b-movies that are given better reviews than usual in the film guides for their excellent use of a small budget and suspense.

If you like Military History then DD have a pretty good back catalogue of drama(Secret Army) & documentaries(Whicker`s War).Battle Of The V1 is presented approx 1.33:1 although original ratio was 1.37:1 & the mono audio isn`t always as clear as it should be- decent low-budget actioner nonetheless. If you want something a bit glossier try Operation Crossbow(1965)with George Peppard.

This is quite average fare really although the new dvd from Renown contains a colourised version which is also showing on Movies4Men.
