Where! Please.

many DVD players have a language button where you can put the english captions at the bottom if the DVD allows. It will not be alway an eXact translation, but it will be good.

I was very surprised that the TCM showing yesterday was not Closed Captioned. By law, almost everything on TV is captioned, but this must fall under some exempt rule. It was especially difficult since Mame, in this case, speaks rapidly which is anathema to all people with hearing loss.

Indeed, Russell speaks so quickly sometime that, despite innumerable viewings since 1968, it wasn't until the film came out on DVD with English subtitles that I was finally able to decipher one of her first lines as "That adorable little bootlegger is on his way over with another gallon of gin"!

"Somewhere along the line the world has lost all of its standards and all of its taste."
