The made up science in this one had me laughing

It's pretty common for screenwriters to just make up science to suit their purposes when writing a script. Some will at least try to make it sound somewhat plausible, like Jurassic Park at least try to make it sound a little bit plausible.

This one contradicted some pretty basic, elementary school biology, though. Lack of oxygen makes the people go into hibernation? It'd be nice if our bodies just slowed down when there wasn't enough oxygen around, but it doesn't. Why not just say that the mad scientist filled their containers with some gas he invented that does the same thing? Talk about lazy writing.
