Perfect fantasy movie!

One of my childhood favorites for sure, though I didn't see it in '58. I saw it in the early 70s when it was re-released in theaters. We begged the adults to let us sit through it a 2nd time & they LET us! :)

A few years ago, I was in the audience at a Ray Harryhausen Q&A/ booksigning & they showed a couple of his movies. But Kathryn Grant was in the audience. Still looking great.

This movie (along w/ pretty much all of Harryhausen's works), would seem ripe for a remake today, but I really hope they don't.

I also saw and met Kathryn Grant along with Ray Harryhausen at a book signing & 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD showing a couple of years ago, and she has indeed aged quite beautifully!

Oh heck, fanboys have talked about a remake already and if somehow this new CLASH OF THE TITANS is successful financially, then that talk will greatly increase.

I like this one but The Golden Voyage of Sinbad is better. John Phillip Law was the best Sinbad, he should've been recast in The Eye of the Tiger. I'd welcome a remake of all three of these but only if they don't make them with their heads up their butts.

Sounds like a cool experience. I wish I could have been there.

And yeah, Harryhausen's films hold up through the test of time. They don't need remakes, though we've already had one in the form of "Clash of the Titans", which I thought was okay.

If the remake was true to his work, duplicating shots, with a nod in the credits towards his work, then I might forgive it, but otherwise I'd prefer not to see any remakes whatsoever.

Along with King Kong and The Thief of Baghdad, this was one of the fantasy movies which enthralled me on TV as a kid and continue to do so all these years later.

There were others I enjoyed very much too, but these are the ones that have remained favourites.

Anything featuring Ray Harryhausen’s brilliant effects work is worth a look but this is his masterpiece IMO.
