This was the film I chose to watch the night that he passed. It just seemed like the one which best captured the spirit of adventure in his films. Afterward, I plugged in a couple of other DVDs to watch highlights like the hydra battle from Jason and the Argonauts and the fight with Kali from The Golden Voyage of Sinbad.
He was a master at his craft. He was always fun to listen to in interviews as well.
I also watched this along with Clash of the Titans in memory of Ray.
But I agree, 7th Voyage of Sinbad is unsurpassed in that spirit of adventure. I love it.
