A reviewer mentioned reason it was only on a year was that it was a hit & CBS wanted an ownership I guess but that Jock & the creator couple & the exec producers didn't want to give up ownership so CBS cancelled it. Seems that one of the other networks would have picked it up or been syndicated like "Sea Hunt" or "Highway Patrol" were. ABC was looking for good shows then. Appears CBS greed killed a great show that filled a niche as something other than a Western. They included some history so it was educational & Jock did his own stunts. It was filmed at Desilu & they had good production values for the time. Pahoo was a great character too.

Hey Triumphirs,

I, too, would like to see this show again. I was a teenager when this aired, and I was captivated by it at the time. There were a lot of shows I liked 60 years ago, but when I see them today, many of them have lost something over time and are no longer as good as I once thought they were. I wish Encore Westerns would pick this series up so I could see how it may have held up over time. I know it sure seemed great back in 1958.
