can somebody please let me know for sure whether Season 2 has "closed captions" or not? or maybe English subtitles amounts to the same thing.

with many TVs you have to turn the closed captions on or off with the TV remote. once i click it on, i check it by watching CNN or a major network cuz they have captions on pretty much everything. it's for my 100% deaf mother who can't experience the episodes without captions. and only about 1 in 3 episodes on LoneStar has them.

the Season 1 DVD DOES have the captions, but i read that Season 2 does NOT.
and stores don't let you return opened DVDs so i don't want to buy it and then not be able to watch it. but we really want to see it if we can!

thanks in advance!

Wow!

Thank you so much for taking the time to look into it and to answer the question. We really appreciate it.
and i believe that was also you, cc, who added the descriptions to each episode in season 1 -- and i wanted to thank you for that!! way to go!
i hope you can still enjoy season 2 without the captions.
i don't think some in the TV / DVD industry understand the importance of captioning. Note: We can't buy it because it doesn't have them.

and hey -- to you or anybody out there:

LoneStar didn't air the season 2 "The Tyrant" (#9). i was wondering if there was anything unusual or interesting about that episode.

oh! and here's my list of "guest stars" from the 23 shows (out of 32) from season 2 that i caught on LoneStar: (it's kind of a neat list :-)

Lon Chaney Jr.
DeForest "McCoy" Kelley
Dyan Cannon! (in a non-captioned episode, but she's great as a magician's assistant :-)
Warren Oates (who appears in all 3 seasons)
Wayne "Trapper" Rogers!
Martin Landau! (along with Steve, a fellow Actors Studio alumni, accepted into program the same-year)
John Carradine (father of Keith & David)
Claude Atkins

no wonder we love this show!
