Oat Jackford

Just watched Home Ranch, as Lucas was leaving after his fight with Jackford, Jackford gave Lucas a speech, basically telling him not to slip up, after Lucas left, Oat gave a smile, was that a sign of respect, because Lucas stood up to, I ask because they seemed pretty cool in later episodes.
