In Season 1, Episode 2,...

...titled ' Nickel Ride ', the ferryboat captain's character's name was ' Adam Flint '. Would anyone know if this character was supposed to be related to Paul Burke's character ' Detective Adam Flint ', who entered the series in season 2?

I just purchased the complete series. I'm going to go through it to see if I can catch anything, just to satisfy my curiosity. You're most likely right, though. It was a great series. Just like ' Route 66 ' ( my favorite ), it was ahead of it's time. I absolutely love the beautiful black and white cinematography. One of my favorite things about Naked City and Route 66 is seeing the many guest stars who nobody knew back then, but who would later become household names.

As a big fan of the show who's seen every episode at least once, there was no relation between ferry captain Adam Flint and Detective Adam Flint. I think the creators/writers just liked the name.

I'm also a "Route 66" fan. Did you know that the "Naked City" episode "Four Sweet Corners"(Season 1) was sort of a 'concept' episode for what would eventually evolve into "Route 66"? In it, George Maharis played "Johnny Gary", while Bob Morris was "Link Ridgeway". Of course, after Maharis left "Route 66" he was replaced by Glen Corbett, whose character name was "Linc Case".

Hello sessai. I was a big fan of "Route 66" as well. I actually liked Glenn Corbett. I don't think he had enough time to develop his character.

I agree with you about Route 66. It's a toss up for me which is my favorite series- Route 66 or Naked City. The common denominator is the tremendous producer Herbert B. Leonard and writer Stirling Syliphant. The on-location filming, intelligent dialog and engaging plots and actors in both series are tough to surpass. Certainly nothing today comes close.
