That's irritating Irish accent

Has anyone else stopped watching Blue Peter simply because they cannot stand to hear that Irish woman's voice? Durham I'm happy to listen to, Welsh I can put up with, but she really needs to have some sort of elocution lessons to get rid of that accent. When se talks I actually want to stick cotton buds in my ears, it would be less painful.

Did you have the same problem with the late Caron Keating, who was also Irish?

Anyway, I don't care what Zoe Salmon sounds like - she is HOT!

reply

I have no idea who Caron Keating was, or whether she was from Northern Ireland or Eire. I quite like Eire accents, but Northern Irish ones drive me up the wall. I just came back from spending the weekend there, and nearly went crazy.

The late Caron Keating presented "Blue Peter" from 1986-90
and was the daughter of Gloria Hunniford.

If the NI accent drives you up the wall then why spend a weekend there? Were they giving away free chocolate in a chocolate fantasy camp?

I was invited to a handgun match. Handguns are illegal everywhere else in the United Kingdom, so I was fairly keen on the idea.

I'm anespeptic, frasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused you such pericumbobulations...

reply

Who won in the handgun match? Or, in a more important way, did both lose?

reply

Both?

I think one of the Irish guys won it. None of the English people did very well because we aren't allowed to practice.
