77 Sunset Strip Jazz Combo

I have seen only vague references to the "occasional jazz combo" featured on the hit series 77 Sunset Strip. I have been unable to find an album or CD by the particular jazz group. Can anyone provide information?

The group was the Frankie Ortega Trio. Frankir Ortega was the piano player and he worked with, among others, Rosemary Clooney and Rose Marie. No CDs that I know of, but try eBay for some of his LPs.

The Mary Kaye Trio appeared on the 3rd episode of Season 2 (October 16,1958). They performed 2 songs. One of those songs was on the charts in April of 1959. It was featured on the 77 Sunset Strip album, which had the hit "Kookie, lend me your comb." The Mary Kate Trio's song was on the charts for 3 weeks and peaked in the mid-70s.

I just caught the episode, but you can see their performances on You Tube if you Google search the name of the group. The second song they sang was the single. The first was a version of "Just One Of Those Things."
