A Couple of genuinely good moments, and a couple of howlers...

Surprisingly effective creepy moments:

1. When the old lady meets the ship's crew and shows them graves that have already been dug for them, based on results of past diamond recovery efforts.

2. When the hero stumbles into the mausoleum and the dead rise blankly from their crypts.

3. The whole set piece of relentless zombies on board the main ship.

4. In an almost surrealist manner, the zombies just walk around, sometimes showing up striding right through the house, like the return of repressed memories.

Howlers or wtf moments:

1. The sight of Allison Hayes lying prone, with two prominent exceptions...

2. The thick-headedness of everyone who can't see that Allison has become a zombie. "Maybe she's recovering...".

3. The idea that if you sprinkle diamonds into the shallow water near shore, you can put an end to a curse by having effectively "destroyed" them.

4. Of the two sailors sharing a bed, the one who survives and in a high-pitched voice starts screaming for help because Allison Hayes is in their bedroom.
