Yes, DVD June 26 '07

From WHV, in widescreen, no less. See shearerchic's inclusive run-down on the "DVD anytime soon?" thread. But this is a quicker alert!

Looks like the producers of AIRPLANE! picked the right week to release Zero Hour!

"There are 10 kinds of people, half understand binary and half don't!"

reply

Surely you can't be serious?!

reply

Yes I am, and don't call me Shirley.

reply

It's an entirely different kind of film -- altogether!

Roger, Roger. What's our Vector Victor?

Do we have clearance, Clarence?

It's an entirely different kind of movie.

Well, looks like I picked the wrong week to quit posting.

For anyone on this thread who knows "Airplane!" but has never seen "Zero Hour!", wait till you hear how much of the dialogue -- as well as the characters' names -- ZAZ lifted for the 1980 film. Amazing to hear the exact same lines played straight in one movie and for laughs in another.

"Municipal bonds, Ted!"

(That's not one of them.)

reply

"He's a menace to himself and everything else in the air! (pause) Yes, birds, too."

"Well, I'll give him just 20 more minutes -- but that's it!"

reply

"Loneliness, thats the bottom line. I was never happy as a child. Christmas, Ted, what does that mean to you? To me, it was a living hell. Do you know what it's like, falling in the mud and getting kicked, in the head, with an iron boot? No, of course you don't, no one does, that never happens. Sorry, Ted, skip that, it's a dumb question."

reply

"There's a sale at Penney's!"

reply

"Joey, have you ever been to a Turkish prison?"

reply

"Ah, yes...I had the lasagne."
