Doc Didn't Seem Very Interested In Coleen Gray

What's the problem? Very good movie.

What's interesting about the movie is that the mother's absence is never explained. One is left to assume that she passed away. I have always felt that Dr. Beecher, still in mourning, is not yet ready for romance. This might be one of the dark emotions that roils about inside of him. When he turns into the monster, his baser instincts are released, thus his final rampage over Gray.

Seems as if the wife/mother is dead. Understand about the mourning period as a possibility. Kinda strange that two excellent movies made about the same time, The Vampire and The Werewolf, involved a scientific and therefore different explanation about the origins of these very popular "monsters."

He didn't "chase" Coleen until his "base instincts" came through from the "pills". It was obvious the cop was very interested in her though!
