Is there such a thing as a 'C' movie?

This is below a B movie. The creatures in the cave have about the worst costumes since Plan 9. They stand around waving their arms with no attempt to really attack or pursue their quarry. The dramatic argument between Pete and the doctor at the end was so wooden, it sounded like they were reading off cue cards.
