Enjoyed this movie...

I didn't know what to expect when I noticed that this pairing of Kirk & Susan was a comedy. Well the 1st 1/2 of this movie had me laughing and appreciating these two solid actors putting in fine performances. The very capable supporting cast was also on target here. The 2nd 1/2 of the film isn't as engaging but worth going the distance since the 2 stars are Kirk & Susan.

Susan Hayward is one of my favorites. I wonder why the end of this movie fell so flat when the beginning was so good. Maybe because it was rushed? It's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember feeling the same way you do.

I just got my dvd today and can't wait to watch it.

I love both Kirk Douglas and Susan Hayward and I enjoyed seeing them both in this movie. The problem is I didn't buy the idea of them falling in love. The rest of it was also a bit far-fetched too.

When they talked about whispering sweet nothings and sharing secrets with a lover, General Petraeus came to mind. The part that especially bothered me was how Kirk's character tried to get the case of the French woman declassified. I can't imagine a General wanting to do that or the government agreeing to it. I could be all wrong but it didn't seem like top secret information would be declassified for so minor a purpose.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
