how amazing is snow in black and white films

not only that....films that are in tokyo.....i think more films shoul dbe filmed in japan in the snow

Agreed. The attentive eye observes the snow through the windows in the background. Mr. Ozu was an absolute master of subtlety.

The snow through the windows was incredible. So evocative in black and white, late 50s postwar japan vibe. Captures a time and place that will never exist again.
