Fonda's Horse

Great Movie. However continuity problem at end.
While leaving town with the woman and her son in the buckboard, Kip's horse is tied to the buckboard running alongside and two horses are harnessed to the buckboard, but both are dark in color, whereas Fonda's horse was light in color. Where is Fonda's horse?

reply

he sold it

The character Kip is riding his pony; Hickman's saddle and lariat are visible in the left rear quarter of the buckboard, indicating that he'd sold his saddle horse and pack horse, probably to purchase the buckboard and team.

Oh good! My dog found the chainsaw!

Money was advanced on Kip's reward to buy the buckboard, etc. Just as old Henry was getting old, he realised his horse shouldn't be asked to carry on for ever either. He retired his horse and salted him good for picnic fillings on the trip. I just had a thought... Did anyone see Kip's new dog at the end? Maybe jerkey...
