Kino DVD vs. Ruscico DVD

Are there any appreciable differences between the two releases? Both are 4 discs with a full disc of interviews... both are full screen... but are subtitled. The Ruscico has English Voice-over option (which is truly annoying - more like watching a '60 Minutes' interview, but I guess that's what the Russians do with English films). I assume the picture quality is the same?

Also, the making-of on the Ruscico claims the movie is the first to be shot in color, wide-screen cinemascope... so why is no release of the film in widescreen? Was it shot Open-Matte?

It´s the same; kino is a port of RUSCICO´s NTSc release. The rule is: if you are interested in a russian movie released by KINO - check if there´s a RUSCico release; then they are the same. Then choose the PAL version via RUSCICO´s site - then you get a much beter picture quality! (But you have to be able to handle PAL off course).

In 2016, there is a 3-hour version of this movie in English on the internet. It is still a good movie, but the sound is obviously done in a studio, not live.
