Rock Hudson performance

While I love Rock Hudson, he (like many other classic movie stars) definitely had a persona - his was the handsome, suave, confident, romantic leading man. I was really surprised by his performance here, in a good way. He has thrown off all those qualities and is quite believable as a slightly sloppy, socially awkward reporter. He's a better actor than he gets credit for.
