Pat's horse

What word did Pat and Tenvoorde use to describe the horse that Pat lost in the wager - was it a breed, type or colour?

reply

The horse was referred to as a "claybank". The dictionary lists it as as horse of "yellowish color".

Thanks for that conklin-6, I didn't think I'd get a reply!

this from wikipedia.org

Red dun (also called claybank or fox dun) horses do not have black points, as there is no black on the horse to be affected. Instead, the points and primitive markings are a darker shade of red than the coat. Genetically, the horse has an underlying chestnut coat color, acted upon by the dun gene.

This color horse appears to have rolled in a red clay mud bank. It's cream or white with reddish spots.

If you use Google and plug in claybank horse, then select Images, you'll find many photos of these horses. I cannot post links with this tablet. My apologies.

Bored now.
