Richard Boone performance was great
He also was a great villain in another Western made from an Elmore Leonard piece, HOMBRE. I think he easily surpassed Lee Marvin's wonderful performance in SEVEN MEN FROM NOW. Terrific, terrific acting.

I agree that Boone was good in the Tall T but disagree that his performance surpassed Marvin's in Seven Men From Now, which was exceptional.
I also enjoyed Boone's performance in Big Jake opposite John Wayne.
Boone was a great stand-in for Marvin.
How many syllables Mario?
When have you ever seen him give anything less than a stellar performance? You should read his biography ( Richard Boone: A Knight Without Armor in a Savage Land ). It's pretty good.
shareIn a non-western role I really liked him in The War Lord with Charlton Heston.🐭
shareBors was fantastic. However, in reading Heston's bio, I was amused to see this sentence: 'I didn't know Dick Boone was going to do Bors like that.' *chortle*
There was a critic who wrote of Boone around this time: Boone was such a body actor 'that he could make a character believable by standing to one side in a scene and slouching' writer Don Miller, 1963. Was Miller right? I believe he was so.
AFA Lee Marvin goes, Boone believed in him as a young actor. Boone had Marvin on his HAVE GUN - WILL TRAVEL series twice as a guest star. He loved to work with promising young actors. He helped many Hollywood greats get their start on HGWT.
Bored now.
... 'I didn't know Dick Boone was going to do Bors like that.' *chortle*There you go. He could surprise even Chuck Heston. Franklin J. Schaffner was obviously happy enough with the interpretation.🐭
