I like this movie

...but I'm not sure why except the feel of the time and place and the difficult lives interest me. The book is very good too. 7/10.

What was that all supposed to be about? That I can't answer without watching the movie again (it's been a good while) and trying to grasp it all.
But Hemingway's stories had a streak of unhappiness about them, as in A Farewell to Arms, For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Old Man and the Sea, where it never works out happily for the main characters.
Guess that was his view of life, and to me it's not boring, rather it's a moody depiction of unfulfilled and often dangerous living (here, bull-fighting, in his other stories, wars and a life-and-death struggle at sea) that I find compelling and absorbing.
