great film

i recently aquired this movie on dvd not realising until i started watching it that it was also one of the first astaire musicals i ever saw although its years since i've seen it which would explain why i didnt remember the title! i really enjoyed this, the chemistry between Astaire and Charisse was much better in this than in 'the bandwagon' and the songs, and the comedy from the supporting cast truly make it memorable (incidently it was the supporting cast tha made me realise i'd seen silk stockings before)
i was able to understand the story much more now but as i havent seen it since childhood thats perhaps understandable, the only bit that really disapointed me was the ending, i was really hoping the camera was gonna cut back to steve and nina and of course it doesn't, but apart from that i've much enjoyed seeing it again :-)
