A good western

It is a good western even though it is not one of Randolph Scotts better ones. It also stars a then relatively unknown young James Garner who stars as one of Scott's men. It is worth seeing so let's hope tv will show it sometime. One of the problems is that it was filmed in black and white instead of beautiful color.

One of the pleasures for me with any Scott western is the plethora of character actors who turn up in Scott's westerns. I'm not always sure who's doubling Scott in these films. Watching Gordon Jones in this movie and his Roy Rogers films still makes me wonder why U cast him as the Green Hornet.

So what if it isn't in color?

I really enjoyed it. Good Directing, Mystery, loved the fateful twist to the ending with the Villain. I think it being filmed in B&W was good. Good shadows.
