Rising of the Moon, The (1957)
this is a fantastic movie regarding the feeling of the irish during some of their most conflicting time period. the bobbie who has a wife who helps to picket against the jail, and yet when the 'hero' gets loose, wants her husband to find him for the reward. the 'cop' type persona who also assists the 'hero' in escaping.
the 'lord of the manor' who is so poor, he only has two pounds, but his pride will not allow him to use the two pounds to keep him from a short time in prison.
the story of a 'one minute stop' where a train is stopping, and stopped and stopped and as each minute develops into another story and plot and the colorful characters.
a three-segment movie. also, it is funny how many characters you recognize from "the quiet man."
